Becky, a young woman with “inappropriate sinus tachycardia (a-fib)…pretty much my brain isn’t sending the right signals to my heart so it isn’t beating correctly. Right now I can’t have surgery- the survival rate is too low and the time I would have to take off isn’t compatible with grad school life. So- that leaves me with medication and prayer!” Please pray that God’s will be evident in this health issue, and that it work to his glory. Also pray that Becky be sustained, physically and emotionally, by others during this difficult time in her life. She is a beautiful Christian. Tempie

I think that one of the most important prayers we can make at this time in our Country’s life is that we the people make the right decision about who will lead us as President. There are lots of folks out there who want us as a nation to go away. Permanently. We need a strong and capable leader. Let’s pray that we get one.

Our kitty Savannah (almost a year old) had an apparent heart attack last night. She cried out; she was having what appeared to be a seizure — she died within seconds, with me stroking her. I am so thankful that it happened this week, instead of when we will be gone to Disney, with someone else caring for the animals, and thankful that we have the pictures from Sunday night when she was such a spicy joy, growling at Merlin who wanted her morsel of Shrimp. I’d told her I was proud of her. She was such a joy for the past months, and such a smarty. She would bide her time to tackle Merlin, and treated Norris with loving devotion. Both needed her treatment. I am mourning not only her death, which is certainly a blessing in its swiftness, especially after Bandit’s bout with cancer last year, but that I didn’t hold her after her bath tonight. I buried her beside Bandit last night (R said he’d do it this morning, but he’s not in physical shape to handle digging), and feel like their spirits are intertwined, and complement each other and that they are safe in the arms of our Lord - together. God is good. He gave us a wonderful kitty for nearly a year. It just hurts. – Robert and I were at the hospital again yesterday, and we are waiting to see what happens with the kidney stone, still. They said there are 3 stages, and he’s been through 2 of the stages. He’s going to bed now, not feeling well at all. Please pray for us to be accepting of God’s will, in the case of Savannah, and that if it be his will, that the kidney stone soon pass.

I am putting all of these on my prayer list. I plan to continue to be in prayer each day for those who are hurting in so many ways and I will be praying for our nation as we decide a new leader.

Please lift up Kendra Lyons this week. She has exams starting today (Rose-Hulman, Terre Haute, IN, a freshman in physics engineering) and was coming down with the flu yesterday. Please pray that, if it is God’s will, she not succumb to the flu, that she be able to apply her learning effectively on the exams and that she not make careless errors, that she remains focused on the important things, and that she continually search out God’s desires for her life. Also, today while waiting for Robert at the doctor’s office in the Memorial complex, for Robert’s stubborn kidney stone, a man in the waiting room had a heart attack — I jumped up and alerted the personnel of the emergency. He was taken to intensive care. Please pray for him and his family. And please pray that the medical personnel are equal to their challenges.

My prayers are for Mike and Liz Mobley after Mike’s by-pass surgery. I ask that the Lord wrap His loving arms around Mike and Liz and keep them comfortable and safe. I pray for the doctors and care givers all who use their special gifts to care for Mike. I know prayer is a powerful thing.
