Last
week in our part of the world we had freezing rain and snow come down
from the sky. This made travel much more complicated and dangerous.
Because of the weather I stayed in and did not go anywhere. It
seemed strange to spend a day just in my office and my home. I
usually get out and see other parts of the world. However, because
of being temporarily shut in I did get lot of work done. More
importantly I learned again that they are many parts of life that are
really beyond the control of us humans.
There
are times I get pulled into the thought that I or someone else can
control life. After all aren’t we humans able to conquer all
obstacles in our way to happiness and joy? I need those days when I
am reminded that I am a mere mortal. Acknowledging that life is
beyond me is freeing and helps me focus on God who is behind all of
life.
